Supporting Location Decisions: Two Tools to Know

There are many factors to weigh in location decisions. Here are two Transwestern tools that can help when advising clients.

The Role of Talent

Companies often wonder how accessibility to talent should weigh into their space decisions. To help clients understand the implications, Transwestern’s Consulting Group created a proprietary tool to quickly evaluate markets for expansion or relocation.

Location Optimizer establishes the number of graduates (completions) within a given college degree (program) and the relationship to jobs. This information is then paired with occupation data, labor availability, wage growth, market connectivity, diversity, state tax climates, market rental rates, time zones and other relevant indicators. An interactive dashboard is customized to reflect any client’s talent requirements and/or short-list, allowing for easy market comparison.

Mapping for Better Visualization

Demographic mapping software helps with market planning, site selection and customer segmentation, presenting it in a dynamic format. A series of ArcGIS trainings are being conducted by Paul Breding and Paris Allen to demonstrate the power and use of this tool in informing location decisions.
