the Connection
Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams

A Whole New Level of Collaboration

Microsoft is replacing Skype for Business with Microsoft Teams, and Transwestern is working to minimize the impact of that shift to our users by exposing you to some of the features of the platform early. Plus, it’s an overall better collaboration tool! Over time, we’ll shift away from Skype to make Teams our primary communication solution, including call, chat and meeting features. In the meantime, you’ll have access to both applications, enabling you to get comfortable with Teams while retaining the familiarity of Skype for Business. Additionally, Teams will replace Workplace by Facebook, which we will retire on Oct. 1, 2019.

Using Teams for project collaboration is a great way to get started. The tool enables you to organize projects into teams and channels, and tracks all associated conversations, files and meetings in one place. Moving some of your conversations to Teams will reduce the time you spend triaging and responding to email, and drive our efficient, collaborative culture across offices, service lines and geographies.

We’ve created a few Transwestern teams, based on user profile information in Workday, to help you get started.  Log into Teams here to see if you’re already a member of a team.
